The Workers Compensation Amendment Act 2012 has denied Journey Claims to all workers unless their profession was excluded from the new Act. Those excluded include Police officers, Miners, Emergency volunteers and Firefighters.

Your entitlements under a journey claim are the same as a normal claim. Your obligations under the act are the same as are your entitlements. Please refer to the relevant sections for your entitlements and obligations.
There are however many exceptions where the insurer may rightfully not pay compensation to you in relation to a journey claim depending on the situation. To see if you fall within one of those exceptions you should consult your solicitor, Workcover or contact ISN for further information regarding journey claims.
If you are injured in a motor vehicle accident on the way to or from work and it is the fault of another driver then you may be entitled to make a claim for compensation under the Motor Accidents Compensation Act 1999. That legislation provides for other benefits which you may be entitled to.
