Negligence is when someone has done something or failed to do something which has resulted in someone else suffering injury. Such acts may include:

  1. Failing to fix stairs that break and cause someone to fall
  2. Not cleaning an area properly resulting in a slip
  3. Not properly maintaining property

If the act or omission was likely to cause injury then it is possible that there may be negligence and so therefore an action may be available.
The law does provide very strict limitations in relation to claims and so it is important that you obtain advice as to whether there is a claim available. For further information regarding whether a claim may be made contact your Solicitor or ISN for further advice.
